Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the iconic 1954 Giulietta Sprint, the Paris show sees the world debut of the new Giulietta Sprint - the first in a whole class of vehicles, today's Gran Turismo models, and an acknowledged symbol of Italian genius.

Back in 1954, in the wake of its highly successful 1900, at the Turin Motor Show Alfa Romeo presented its Giulietta Sprint, an agile coupé model designed by Bertone, the first in the high-performance compact car segment. Suffice it to say that this was the first production car to be equipped with a race-derived, twin shaft engine entirely made of aluminium: the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder power unit that enables this car to reach a top speed of 165 km/h, placing it right at the top of its class. .

The Giulietta was the Fifties dream car of all motorists, the vehicle that, for the first time, made the desire of owning an Alfa Romeo an accessible one. Today's Giulietta Sprint is made in the same spirit, with, in addition, a more marked aesthetic characterisation, thrilling performance and top-class technological equipment.

Exterior
The new Sprint version stands out for its special badge on the outside, a sports rear bumper, oversized exhaust tailpipes and 5-hole Sprint 17" alloy wheels (18" wheels on request). The exterior styling of the new Giulietta Sprint is completed by the tinted rear windows and glossy anthracite finishes on the front grille, handles, rear-view mirror fairings and fog light frames.

Interior
The ultimate expression of Italian style is the result of painstaking attention to details and the use of high-quality materials. In particular, the black sports trim stands out, enhanced by the fabric and Alcantara Sprint seats with red stitching and logo on the headrests. Another standard feature is the leather-covered steering wheel with red stitching, while the dashboard and door panels have a sophisticated, carbon-coloured finish. The black roof lining and special mats complete the new version's interior.

Engines and transmissions
Among the main new features of the Sprint version is the brand-new 150 HP, 1.4 MultiAir Turbo Petrol engine, ensuring a top speed of 210 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 8.2 seconds. This top-class level of performance is achieved with reduced fuel consumption and emissions: 5.6 l/100km and 129 g/km CO2.

At the core of the MultiAir is a new electrohydraulic valve management system that reduces fuel consumption by controlling air directly via the inlet valves (without using the throttle) and limits polluting emissions (via combustion control). As befits a flag-bearer for the downsizing concept, the versatile MultiAir technology is easily applied to all petrol engines.

The engine range also includes a 170 HP 1.4 Turbo Petrol MultiAir version - with Alfa TCT twin clutch automatic transmission - and 1.6 JTDM 105 HP, 2.0 JTDM 150 HP and 2.0 JTDM 175 HP Turbodiesel versions, the latter also with Alfa TCT. To complete the Giulietta Sprint range, the 120 HP 1.4 LPG Turbo engine offers a superb concentration of power and technology, combining top-notch performance, environmental-friendliness and low running costs.

Equipment
The new Giulietta Sprint comes with top-class equipment as standard including (according to markets): 5-hole Sprint 17" alloy wheels, sports rear bumper, oversized exhaust tailpipes, Sprint fabric and Alcantara seats with red stitching and logo on the headrests, carbon-coloured interior finishes, Cruise Control, rear parking sensors and dual-zone automatic climate control system.

Additionally, the new Sprint version includes the new Uconnect multimedia device with 5" or 6.5" touch-screen integrated in the dashboard. Both versions come complete with Bluetooth interface, Aux-in connector, USB port and voice commands. Last but not least, the 6.5" device also has a satellite navigation system with 3D bird's eye view maps, progressive route guidance and the 'One Step Voice Entry Destination' function for entering the required destination with voice commands. Both systems have been developed in collaboration with first-class partners: Harman and Here Auto for Uconnect 6.5" and Continental for Uconnect 5".

Alfa Romeo MiTo Junior

The Alfa Romeo brand, sports essence and a young vibe: these are the features that made the "baby" Giulia GT 1300 Junior a success ever since its launch in 1966. Better known simply as the 1300 GT Junior, the model was to become one of the biggest commercial successes for Alfa Romeo in the sports segment.

Today, the sport-oriented DNA of that legendary coupé lives again in the MiTo Junior, a brilliant entry-level model designed to make the Alfa Romeo world of grit, agility and sheer fun accessible for younger buyers.

Exterior
On the outside, the new MiTo Junior emphasizes its sporting soul with a few distinctive features such as the new 17" alloy wheels with white treatment, the sports rear bumper and the chrome-plated exhaust tailpipe. Unmistakably identified by the "Junior" tailgate sticker, the new version also offers special, white-finish door mirror fairings, colour-matched with the wheels and an elegant Satin Chrome treatment for the door handles and front and rear light frames.

Interior
True to its positioning as the "sportiest compact car ever", the new MiTo Junior stands out for its unique white stitching set against the sports fabric seats, the new shaped steering wheel design, the special mats with the "Junior" logo and the gear and brake lever leather boots. Equipped with a black-coloured Street dashboard, the MiTo Junior has a special sports instrument panel with white graphics.

Equipment
Styled to express its sports nature, and with an outstanding on-road performance setting the standard in its category, the new MiTo Junior comes equipped with a standard dual-zone automatic climate control system, tinted windows, fog lights, cruise control, seats with lumbar adjustment, leather wheel with radio/phone controls and spoiler (configuration available for the French market). .

Additionally, the new MiTo Junior features the best equipment currently available in terms of infotainment: a UconnectTM 5'' Radio system, including a 5" colour Touchscreen, Bluetooth® pre-setting with voice controls and MP3 Media Player with USB and AUX-in, SMS reader, audio streaming and steering wheel controls; it is also pre-set for the installation of a top-class BOSE Hi-Fi sound system (with 8 speakers and subwoofer).

Engines and transmissions
New MiTo Junior purchasers can choose from a wide range of engine versions - all efficient, reliable and eco-friendly. Among them are the 105 HP 0.9 Turbo TwinAir, with its lively performance - 105 HP (72 kW) delivery at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 145 Nm at 2,000 rpm - and reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. All this without ever compromising on performance: top speed of 184 km/h and 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in just 11.4 seconds.

For high-performance enthusiasts, there's the new 140 HP 1.4 Turbo Petrol MultiAir with Alfa TCT automatic transmission, delivering a stunning 209 km/h top speed with 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 8.1 seconds. All this with reduced emissions and fuel consumption: 5.4 l/100km and 124 g/km CO2 respectively, in the combined cycle.

Newly licensed drivers also have the option to choose between a 78 HP 1.4 petrol version and an 85 HP 1.3 JTDM Turbodiesel version. The latter power unit, in particular, delivers a top power of 85 HP at 3,500 rpm and a torque of 200 Nm from just 1,500 rpm, and can reach a top speed of 174 km/h and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 12.9 seconds. One of the second-generation MultiJet engines, the 1.3 JTDm version only produces 90 g/km CO2 emissions in the mixed cycle.

The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Preview version
After its successful debut at the 2014 Geneva show, the preview of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, the convertible evolution of the multiple-award-winning coupé launched last year, will take to the catwalk at the French show, too. Characterised by special details and distinctive finishes, the preview is an exercise in style aimed at selecting the contents to be implemented in the standard production scheduled for the beginning of next year.

Spiders have always occupied a prime place in Alfa Romeo's heritage as the freest and most emotion-driven expression of motoring. The same spirit is expressed in the preview version of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, the natural evolution of Alfa Romeo's long spider history focused on cars capable of delivering great excitement, outstanding driving satisfaction, striking design and powerful, flexible engine performance.

For this reason, the preview inherits all the distinctive winning features of the Alfa Romeo 4C coupé, the brand's modern icon that represents the essential sportiness embedded in the ‘Alfa Romeo DNA': top performance, Italian style and technical excellence aimed at maximum driving pleasure in total safety.

Exterior style
Designed by the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, the mid-engined preview 2-seater with rear-wheel drive confirms the brand's excellence in this sector as demonstrated by some of its Spiders, widely acknowledged as the most beautiful in the history of motoring, such as the 1950s' Giulietta Spider or the legendary Duetto made famous by the film The Graduate (1967), all the way to the captivating Alfa Romeo 8C Spider. Now, it is the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider's turn to take to the stand by projecting the technological and emotional values that are part of Alfa Romeo's heritage into the future.

A special feature of the preview version is the exclusive Triple Coat Glossy White livery which, with its depth and iridescence, shapes the car volumes, highlighting its sculpted, finely modelled surfaces.

Set against this unmistakably elegant Italian ‘attire' are the special carbon roll-bar cover and the carbon windscreen ring, which combines the concepts of lightness and strength, in line with Alfa Romeo's exclusive synthesis of ‘functional beauty'.

The search for brand-new stylistic solutions can also be seen in the new clamshell headlights, the distinctive differentiated diameter (18" at the front and 19" at the rear) alloy wheels and the oversized Pirelli tyres.

Interior design
The elemental design and essential materials also distinguish the interior, entirely designed and built for maximum driving satisfaction. One of the most striking interior elements is carbon, used to make the central cell, left in full view to enhance the sense of uniqueness, of top technology and light weight. Additionally, to further emphasise the unique quality of the spider version, Alfa Romeo's designers have chosen a particular leather upholstery, the product of the finest Italian craftsmanship tradition.

Dimensions and aerodynamics
The preview version of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider has a length of approximately 4 metres and a wheelbase of less than 2.4 metres: these dimensions on the one hand emphasise the car's compact nature, while also accentuating its agility. Thanks to the designers' excellent work, the car achieves outstanding aerodynamic efficiency, maintaining the downforce of the coupé version, which contributes towards ensuring increased stability at higher speeds. Additionally, thanks to an in-depth aerodynamic study, it was possible to minimise the air turbulence in the passenger compartment with the soft top open, making for a pleasant drive even at higher speeds.

A spider with limited extra weight thanks to the high-quality materials already used in the coupé
Thanks to the quality of the ‘4C coupé' project and its carbon chassis, the 4C Spider will also guarantee a class-leading weight-to-power ratio, and striking performance levels thanks to a total dry weight of less than 1,000 kg. Further proof is the replacement of the glass rear window with a bodywork extension in SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound), which houses the headrests and roll-bar. Interestingly, the low-density SMC, at just 1.5 g/cm³, is significantly lighter than steel (~7.8 g/cm³) and aluminium (~2.7 g/cm³), in addition to being more malleable. Also, in contrast to aluminium, it does not deform in minor collisions, and is extremely resistant to chemical and atmospheric agents. It also disperses sound efficiently, increasing acoustic comfort.

A titanium and carbon exhaust system study
The preview version of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider adopts a dual-stage central exhaust system concept with titanium and carbon tailpipes by Akrapovic, the manufacturer of racing exhaust systems for Moto GP, Superbike, Supersport, Motocross and Enduro race bikes. Among its most distinctive features is the wireless-technology, electrically operated valve. The study into a ‘dual mode' exhaust is in full Spider spirit, as the driver can choose to magnify the pleasure of open-air driving through a dual exhaust set-up: a more restrained one, for relaxed driving, and a more aggressive version for sports driving.

Excellent performance with the new 4-cylinder, 1750 Turbo Petrol Alfa TCT engine
The power unit is the same as in the coupé version: the new 4-cylinder 1750 Turbo Petrol engine with an innovative aluminium block allowing for a 22 kg weight saving, and special intake and exhaust systems optimised to enhance the sports appeal of the car even further. In addition, it boasts cutting-edge technical solutions including direct fuel injection, dual continuous variable valve timing, a turbocharger and a revolutionary scavenging control system for turbo lag control.

The 1750 Turbo Petrol engine is teamed with the innovative Alfa TCT automatic twin dry clutch transmission, a genuine benchmark in its segment due to its limited weight and extremely quick activation. The gears can also be changed in sequential mode using the "shift paddles" located behind the steering wheel.

With this equipment, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider preview version guarantees outstanding performance and sensations even for most experienced drivers, and sits right at the top of its category, on a par with the coupé version, both in terms of absolute performance and in terms of handling and driving pleasure.

Finally, like all the latest-generation Alfa Romeos, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider version is equipped with the DNA selector. This device enables the driver to change the car's character to adjust it to the current conditions of use. In addition to the three settings available up until today - Dynamic, Natural and All-Weather - the device fitted to the Alfa Romeo Supercar has a fourth mode: 'Race', designed to enhance the track driving experience even further.

Handling
In addition to its absolute performance, also the handling of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider preview model makes it one of a kind. The car can be fully enjoyed in all situations, and not only during extreme use on race tracks, thanks to its feel and ease of driving at top levels. A specific suspension set-up has been developed for the convertible Alfa Romeo, such as to ensure the same feeling and driving pleasure as the 4C Coupé.
